Siting of Well Head Towers/Platforms, Super Complex, etc., in offshore is challenging as marine logistics and subsea facilities routing complicates process facilities configuration. To review multiple hazards envisaged in offshore projects, a systematicand methodological review is used for proposed location of the new facilities/structures using Sector Analysis. The suitability / acceptability of each sector is assessed based on the criteria established for the project.
Within each facility a central hub is identified which provides a central point of reference to carry out the Sector Analysis. The area surrounding the reference structure is divided into 12 equal sectors A to L starting from North direction and going clockwise (at 30° each). Each sector is considered in turn at 100m, 200m and 300m radii from the central hub reference for the sectors.
Based on the following criteria the sector analysis will confirm the suitability of the proposed location or otherwise. These shall then be further used to finalize the location and arrangement of the facilities/structures.
